GoHighLevel Review 2026: From an Agency Running 67 Sub-Accounts
By the person who runs Anti-Agency. I run marketing agencies on GoHighLevel. Prices checked October 6, 2026.
Short answer: GoHighLevel is worth it if you run marketing for several local businesses. It is not worth it for one small business that only needs email. I pay $297 a month for the Unlimited plan and run 67 sub-accounts on it. One sub-account is one client or one brand. For that many accounts, nothing else I know of comes close on price.
What I actually run on it
My sub-accounts are business directories, my own product brands, and client demos. I counted them through the GoHighLevel API on October 6, 2026: 67. Some are tests. Most hold real contacts, real pipelines and real email. I use it for the contact list, the inbox for every site, email sends, missed-call text-back, review requests, and AI voice and chat agents.
| What I needed | What I found |
|---|---|
| Unlimited sub-accounts on $297 | Yes. 67 on one bill. |
| Email built in | Yes. Email checks are done when you send. |
| Texting (SMS) | Yes, after A2P registration. That takes days, not minutes. |
| AI voice and chat | Yes, metered. Voice $0.094 a minute, chat $0.0029 a reply on my bill. |
| Build automations by API | No. Workflows are built by clicking in the editor. |
| Price of extras | Billed from a wallet. Mine auto-tops up $10 when it drops under $10. |
What works
- One bill for many clients. $297 covers every sub-account. My cost per sub-account is under $5 a month.
- Phone and email at cost. On the Unlimited plan, GoHighLevel rebills phone and email to the client with no markup.
- AI is cheap when metered. I dropped a $97-a-month unlimited AI add-on. Pay-per-use was cheaper at my volume by a wide margin.
What breaks
- Email sending domains. Give every sub-account its own sending subdomain. When I shared one across brands, mail from one site stopped reaching inboxes for weeks.
- Texting setup. US carriers need A2P 10DLC registration first. Plan for days of waiting before the first text goes out.
- Automations are click-work. You cannot create a workflow through the API. Templates help. Snapshots (a saved copy of a whole sub-account) help more.
- The learning curve. It does a lot. The first week feels like a cockpit.
Which plan to pick
One business: Starter at $97. An agency with 4 or more clients: Unlimited at $297. Only pick Agency Pro at $497 if you want to sell GoHighLevel to clients as your own software. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
How I picked
I run GoHighLevel every day, so that part is first-hand. For the other tools I read each company's own pricing page on October 6, 2026. I did not use review sites for prices. I have not run HubSpot, ClickFunnels or Kajabi for clients. When I say who each tool is for, that is a judgement from their plans and limits, not from years of use.
